Chinese usually contracts — a page can suddenly look empty

Unlike most target languages, Chinese typically shrinks the text: a full English sentence often compresses to a short run of characters, so a naive translation leaves paragraphs rattling around in oversized boxes and tables full of white space. Chinese also needs proper CJK fonts — the wrong font renders characters as boxes. Reglyph re-typesets each block with appropriate CJK typography and sizing inside the original layout, so a contracted translation still fills its region naturally and the page reads as designed rather than sparse.
